Abilities/powers:
Julia is a Mazoku (translated as demon) so she ages slower than a human being. She possesses great Healing Maryoku (magic that Mazokus use) even if as a child she probably doesn’t have much control of it.

Personality:

Despite being blind Julia was always a kind and gentle person, putting everyone’s needs above her own. She was always cheerful and a lively as a child, even being a bit mischievous. She is very energetic and likes to climb trees and do the normal things any child would do, even if she’s blind.
She always had the same views on humans and Mazoku as Yuuri, wanting both races to be at peace with each other.
Her blood is the key to the forbidden box, "The Mirror at the Bottom of the Sea". Julia’s soul was also created by Shinou as one of the purest souls.

History:

Suzanna Julia von Wincott was born to the noble family of Wincott. She has a younger brother called Dechlias and her father is named Odell. Her mother has never made an appearance in the series. Born blind, Julia was a sweet child and to some point mischievous. Her father comments that mischievousness is a trait that runs in the family. Truthfully his grandson Rinji (Dechlias’ son) is a proof of that. As a child Julia was very lively and active and often did things normal kids would so like climbing trees and play a version of hide and seek called Shinou’d Away. Julia always had a simple view of life – to her people got along by laughing and playing together and not by holding conferences among the royal families that she always found dull. She never hesitates in her decisions, she always dives right into things. “Diving in without any hesitation, she glows as she goes” as quoted by Valtrana, of another noble family.

When she grows up, Julia becomes a Healer, attending in a great war against the humans. Because she gave all her maryoku to try to help as many injured people as possible she ends up dying. However it is later discovered that it all part of Shinou’s (the Original king of the Mazoku) will and that Julia’s soul would be reincarnated as the next Maou (Yuuri).
She and Conrad (one of Cheri’s sons) become great friends and trust each other deeply (it is unknown if they loved each other just as friends). Although she is engaged to Adalbert, she doesn’t tell him about her fate and she chooses to leave her most precious item (a blue pendant) with Conrad instead. However it seems that she also cared greatly for Adalbert and that was the reason she didn’t tell him she would eventually die and about her soul’s fate. Regarding her soul, Conrad was the one left with the task of delivering it to Earth and find the right vessel for it.

Additional comments: I’m taking Julia from the time when she was a child. So instead of the canon death she died from falling from a tree.

As an explanation to how Yuuri would come into being should Julia die a premature death let's say that Shinou could have had a backup plan should Julia die accidenatlly (which is what happened here). As the creator of Julia's soul, he should be able to create as many similar souls as he wants. As for the reason why Julia's soul was so tormented to end up in Haibane Hollow, I'll say that she felt that it wasn't still her time. She felt unfulfilled, felt that this, somehow, wasn't her fate. Although she didn't know about her fate at such a young age, her soul felt it wasn't time to move on and that caused her to be stuck at Haibane Hollow.
